Russell Simmons is a businessman, a four-time best-selling author, and activist whose career has been known in the worlds of music, film, television, fashion, and finance. He is also the Founder of Gdas Bali Health & Wellness Resort.
After producing or managing artists such as Kurtis Blow, Run DMC, and Whodini, Simmons joined forces with producer Rick Rubin to found Def Jam Recordings. Under his leadership as Chairman, Def Jam signed acts including the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Jay Z, DMX, and Kanye West.
His notable books about healthy lifestyle and entrepreneurship include "Success Through Stillness," "The Happy Vegan," and the soon-to-be-released "Eat to Live." Simmons was also appointed as Gushcloud Studios Co-Chairman, a global entertainment production company.
Having lived in Bali for five years and as a vegetarian for nearly 25 years, Simmons is part of a revolution that promotes conscious living, a plant-based diet, and a yogic lifestyle.
