Dr. Ir. Anak Agung Gde Raka Dalem, M.Sc.(Hons)

Anak Agung Gde Raka Dalem is a lecturer at Udayana University, Bali. He graduated from Food Technology & Human Nutrition Department at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB Bogor), Master Program in Environmental Science (UWS-H, Australia), as well as Doctoral Program in Tourism at Udayana University, Bali. Raka Dalem is teaching some subjects including ecotourism, Balinese life philosophy of the Tri Hita Karana (THK) in sustainable development, as well as environmental conservation and management. He is teaching on Bachelor, master and Ph.D Programs. He is teaching either for local or international programs. Raka Dalem has been teaching international students in School of International Training (SIT) Study Abroad Programs on environment and Balinese culture in the perspective of the Tri Hita Karana (THK), teaching international students in GoBali international programs (sustainability & tourism), teaching Biodiversity Conservation & Ecotourism as well as Healthy Food and Healthy Life in Bali for the Upskill International Program at Udayana University, and invited as a guest lecturer for international students who visited Bali. His other experiences teaching on international programs, such as on BIPAS, and IBSN. Besides teaching, Raka Dalem is also a researcher at Centre of Excellence in Tourism as well as SDGs Center, Udayana University. He is also a Vice Chairperson of Tourism Villages Forum (Forkom DEWI) Bali and Deputy Chairperson of Peliatan Customary Village Leader (Pangliman Desa Adat Peliatan). He was the head of Ecology Laboratory, the Head of Ecotourism Study Group / Ecotourism & Sustainable Development Study Group & the Dean of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Udayana University between 2007-2011 & 2011-2015. Raka Dalem was a member of gastronomy team of Gianyar, a member team writing masterplan of Bali tourism, a member of DMO monitoring team, and a member of team writing CCSM document of The Nusa Dua. Raka Dalem has also been as the auditor on sustainable tourism in the perspective of the Tri Hita Karana for about 25 years. He had experiences in conducted audit and provided training or consultancy in the international levels as well (eg. on Green Globe, and EarthCheck sustainable tourism certifications). Raka Dalem has also been actively in 'meet local encounter' programs. In publication, Raka Dalem was the editor for a book on the standar of tourism information on Bali written in collaboration with the Tour Guides Association (HPI) Bali & Bali Tourism Authority (2003) entitled “Bali: Objek dan Daya Tarik Wisata".
