Elvira Wijsen

Elvira Wijsen is a Dutch-born, Bali-based entrepreneur. She started her career in the travel industry, went on to found her own company in property management, and is currently volunteering and advising for an environmental NGO.

Currently, she serves as a Senior Advisor & Purpose Driver for YOUTHTOPIA (since 2015) and has been a volunteer for Bye Bye Plastic Bags since 2013. Her ongoing roles in these organizations highlight her deep commitment to environmental issues and youth empowerment.

To solidify her expertise, Elvira completed a 6-month certified online course in Sustainability Management from Cambridge University in 2021. She also became an EarthCheck Associate in 2023, after volunteering and shadowing 10 auditing sessions in Bali.

Her extensive background also includes roles as the Founder and CEO of BALION (1985-1990) and the Operational Manager for the sailing boat Ombak Putih (1996-2000), which provided her a strong foundation in tourism and management.
